April Music

Music from my April playlist:

  • Mojo Nixon, Root Hog or Die.  Another good outing from MJ.  I particularly like the “Burn All Your Money” and “Pirate Radio.”  He’s an angry but funny man.
  • The Streets, Everything is Borrowed.  I like this album a lot.  Not quite as much as A Grand Don’t Come for Free, but close.  I already posted about “On the Edge of a Cliff,” a lovely song.  I also really like “The Way of the Dodo.”  I love this guy’s rhythm.
  • Paul and Storm, songs from various albums.  Concert favorites like “Opening Band” and “The Captain’s Wife’s Lament” succeed brilliantly, but my favorites are the Randy Newman theme songs to other movies.
  • She & Him, volume 1: Zooey Deschanel has a lovely voice, and the show-tuney quality of the songs compliments her style nicely.  My favorite in this first album is “Sentimental Heart.”
