Year in Review: Bird’s Eye View of 2009

The first sentence blogged each month this year.

Bird's Eye View

Bird's Eye View*

January – In watching the people on Rockin’ New Years Eve wearing those creepy glasses made out of the upcoming year, I couldn’t help but wonder what the 2011 glasses will look like.

February – Poor Finn had an awful crying jag last night. He woke up screaming about 1am and was absolutely inconsolable.

March – I picked up Rock Band 2 for the Wii last week, and it sure is fun.

April - A Redhead for Mike Shayne

May - Avery and I are finally seeing some lusty sprouts in our garden.

June – Saturday night we saw Unwigged and Unplugged: An evening with Christopher Guest, Micheal McKean, and Harry Shearer at the Chicago Theatre.  It was excellent.

July – Okay, he’s not fat. But I wanted something to give it this post a bit more pizazz.

August – So Finn is one year old today.

September – In an essay about the rise of zombies in popular media, the author takes a pot shot at “brain dead” English classes, and uses me as a counter-example (someone not brain dead?).

October – Bryson has long been one of my favorite writers.  He has a sure hand in storytelling and a sure hold on the English language.  His turns of phrase twinkle.

November – It’s been a grueling first year, with some big lapses on my part but some successes as well.

December -  The time thing seems “important” (as important as FB notes get, anyway), since if I sat down at a different fifteen-minute period, I would come up with a slightly different list (although the top five would probably always be there).
