Extra Credit opportunities

Occasionally I offer extra credit opportunities. Here are a few:

• World War Z analysis:
  Choose one section of Brooks' book (one interview) and write a close analysis of the themes, ideas, and implications of the section. You should not spend more than a sentence or two on plot summary (just provide enough for us to remember which one you're writing about). You should connect your analysis to readings, films, and ideas we've discussed both in class and that we've encountered in the readings. Use quotes and evidence from the book to support your ideas. (Worth up to 20 points -- due 22 Jan)
• Show and Tell: Bring in a zombie-related object/text not already on the syllabus or scheduled to be presented by a classmate. Show it to the class and talk about it for a minute or two. You may do this once for credit. (4 points.)
  This assignment is not eligible for the absence waiver.
