Project, Part 1
First you need to pick a year. Any year will do: 1979, 1945, 1983, etc. Compile an extensive list of the events that occurred in that year—your list should have 12-15 events. Choose these events from a variety of subject areas and disciplines. These might include, but are not limited to comics, history, politics, films, TV shows, music, sports, science, fashion, etc. You may conduct your research using both online and offline sources, but be sure to examine your sources for validity and authority. Be sure to note all the relevant information about your sources for your works cited page.

For eight to ten of these events, write a short passage explaining what the event was and mentioning any important names, dates, or people involved. You should draw on a variety of different sources for these summaries. After you have written your event summaries, choose four or five events that you want to work with on the next step of the project.

Build a web site documenting your research. Your website should include at least five web pages that link to one another (in some way) and a complete works cited page (thus six pages total). You should use some images on your pages, and you should try to present your lists and summaries in a way that makes sense. Indicate which four or five events you've selected to take to the next part of the project.
