Read pages 1-62 of Everything Bad is Good For You. Pick out an idea or two from Johnson's book
and respond to them. Feel free to question the author or disagree with him. Pick apart the ideas and
really dig at what he's saying. If you aren't sure what to write about, answer one or more of these questions:
- What the heck is the "Sleeper curve" Johnson's talking about? What does it mean? How can we see it in action? Do you think he's on to something here, or is he bonkers?
- Do you think 'telescoping' is as important to the critical processes gaming develops as Johnson seems to? What other critical thinking skills do games help you develop?
- Johnson seems pretty dismissive of the traditional arguments about violent games. Why do you think that is? Use examples or ideas from the book--why does JOHNSON dismiss those ideas? What does he focus on?
