During the semester, I will offer a few extra credit opportunities. These can be used in one of
two ways:
- To 'excuse' one absence from the semester. Great if you have three absences
and stand to lose 75 points.
- To earn a few extra points to cover for missed day-to-day assignments
Please note, however, that the amount of time involved in extra credit assignments
usually out-paces the amount of time involved in doing the day-to-day assignments.
All Extra Credit is DUE 2 MAY
- DIY Exhibit:
Visit the DIY Exhibit
in the Art and Design gallery and examine the installation closely.
Write a short essay (500-750 words) explaining how game makers could
contribute to the DIY movement. You should talk about the philosophy
of the exhibit and put your ideas in conversation with the
installation itself. Worth up to 20 points
- Game Studies Report:
Read one
article from the journal Game Studies and prepare a 5-10 minute
presentation on it. See the
assignment sheet for more details. Worth up to 20 points.
- Final Project Presentation:
You may prepare a
5-10 minute presentation of your final project to share with the class
on our last day. This presentation should be carefully prepared and should
include visuals or a handout for the class. You must notify Brendan on 2 May that
you plan to present your project on 9 May. Worth up to 20 points.
